In order to maximize engine performance, we have read a lot of materials and watched a large number of high-performance engine videos, learned about the lubrication methods of high-performance engines, and constructively designed dry oil pans and high and low pressure oil pumps.

Dry oil pan refers to the absence of oil in the oil pan, and the engine of a car is completely lubricated by pressure. Dry oil sump has the following advantages:

    1. Increase engine power. There is almost no oil in the oil pan of the dry oil pan, so there is no oil stirring resistance when the engine crankshaft is running. In addition, the multi-stage parallel return oil pump increases the vacuum degree inside the crankcase, reduces the resistance during crankshaft and piston movement, and can improve engine power to a certain extent.

    2. Improve the lubrication performance of the engine. Due to the fact that the oil entering the main oil passage of the engine comes from the oil tank rather than directly from the oil pan, the quality of the lubricating oil is better, the pressure is higher, and the flow rate is more stable, thereby increasing the lubrication effect on the engine

    3. Improve the driving stability of the vehicle. Because the oil pan of the dry oil pan is very low, the height of the engine decreases, thereby lowering the center of gravity of the entire vehicle. Some oil pan designs are wedge-shaped with a low front and high rear, which can make the engine lean forward and further lower the center of gravity. Lowering the center of gravity can improve the stability and handling of the vehicle.

We have designed dry oil sump for V10 and V12, and equipped them with two oil pumps, namely low-pressure oil pump and high-pressure oil pump. The engine oil is stored in a separate oil tank. The low-pressure oil pump is responsible for pumping the oil pan oil into the oil storage tank, while the high-pressure oil pump is responsible for pumping the oil in the oil storage tank to the active lubrication position, forming a high-pressure oil film.

In order to improve the speed and flow rate of oil extraction, we have designed a four stage oil pump, which directly extracts oil from the oil pan at the inlet and connects to a storage tank at the outlet.

We use a cycloidal pump, also known as a rotary pump or screw pump, which is a positive displacement pump commonly used for transporting various fluid media. Its working principle is based on one or more pairs of inner and outer spiral rotors rotating inside the pump casing, thereby generating fluid displacement.

Cycloid pumps have the characteristics of uniform flow rate, smooth operation, self-priming ability, strong adaptability, simple maintenance, long service life, high efficiency, reverse operation ability, no shear force, and compact design.

The high-pressure oil pump extracts the oil from the storage tank and pumps it to the main oil pipeline of the cylinder block through the cycloidal pump. Lubricate and cool the moving parts of the crankshaft, connecting rod, and camshaft separately.
